The
first stage is to complete the drawing on regular paper. I
draw this at the size I want the painting to be so there Is
no need to increase or decrease the scale. This image shows
the drawing completed regular on paper.
I
then place a large piece of tracing paper over the drawing
and trace over the top using a standard graphite pencil (quite
hard “H”) – this image shows me tracing
over the drawing.
I
then flip the tracing over and with a scrap sheet of paper
underneath I go over the back side of the tracing, this time
I use a pencil with a softer lead (e.g. 2B) so that plenty
of graphite is laid down on the tracing paper. This image
shows me drawing over the back of the tracing paper.
