 | After I was happy with the drawing on paper, I transferred it to the canvas, I added more detail to the most important parts and just gave suggestions to the remainder. |
 | A tonal under painting helps a lot and here I have used mainly Burnt Sienna and Ultra Marine to block in the main tones, the high-lights were lifted out with kitchen tissue. |
 | After the tonal under painting was dry I began to block in the major colours, I have also began to think of a title "Curiosity" is the working title for now, as it seems to sum up the expression of this little leopard cub - I remember seeing him and he was SOOOO curious into everything. He will eventually be painted looking at a butterfly. |
 | This detail shows the main colours blocked in and some fur texture started on the face - still a long way to go yet! |

Above you can see the finished painting "Curiosity", only the cub truly knew what was going through his mind when he came face to face with this marula caterpillar, but I think he was really inquisitive and curious. Did he sniff him, or run away?
